Now that everything had gone back to normal, Xander couldn't help feeling just an overall sense of relief. Sure he was jumping at shadows because he had no doubt Spike was going to do something in revenge for his few days as a rabbit, but come on! Xander had taken care of him and made sure he wasn't eaten or anything, that should stand for something!
In an effort to both establish normalness and clam his Spike induced nerves, he was playing a game of pool against himself. After his conversation with Joe about the game, he wasn't as convinced on Willow's theory about it being a smart person game. Maybe if he just practiced he'd get the feel of it, like Joe said. Of course who was he kidding, but then it was something to pass the time and hey, it was fun!
He'd just broken the balls and he studied their layout. It meant nothing to him but he put up a good show of thinking about it. He picked the 5 as his target, since it seemed to be in a pretty straight line with the corner pocket and hey, they always say to start simple. He bent over and carefully lined the cue to make his shot.
