Xander did know exactly how that felt, having lost many people from his home and bed on the island. It wasn't a pleasant feeling and he really did feel sorry for Alcuin, which only made him want to help more. At least...as much as he could.
He gave Alcuin an amused smile as he patiently waited for Helen to touch him. "Yeah, we do. Empty huts are not fun for anyone. I just wish there was more we could do."
