Xander really should have known better.

When he woke up and heard all the goings on, he should have gone back to bed. Where it was safe. But Noooo..... he had to get up and see what was going on. Between the people flying overhead and the shouting of joy...he had a bad feeling about this.

And yet, that didn't stop him from picking up the wand that he found at his feet when he walked out of his and Buffy's hut. After turning it over in his hands, Xander gave a small shrug and waved it around like you always imagine wizards doing. "Uh....Abracadabra?"

Nothing happened. Xander looked down at the point of thing and banged it against his palm. "Great, I /had/ to find the broken one."

Spike had found himself a wand, but after conjuring up several cartons of fags and a case of scotch, he got bored and abandoned the wand in his cave. He was out for a patrol now, though really, most of the island residents just seemed to be having some harmless fun. Chaotic, but harmless.

He stopped and smirked as he walked past Xander and Buffy's hut, overhearing his comment. "Your 'wand' is broken. Why'm I not surprised?" he drawled, pouring as much innuendo into the words as possible.
